Nil is a lab hybrid, who was once human, and was experimented on against her own will by the Yana government. Nil has an eccentric and bubbly personality, and it’s rare to see her in a bad mood (unless Marco is nearby).
Biography
Nil was once a human named Hotaru Ito, who lived in the northeastern part of the Yana region. She was an only child, and went to an art school. Her family went into debt after her father spent all the funds on gambling. After finding out that the Yana government was offering a large sum of money to do experiments on people, Hotaru’s father quickly offered his daughter in exchange for the money.
Hotaru was part of an experiment called “Project: Nil”. The objective of this test was to create a being that had the strength to destroy Revenants without the help of Terminus. The assessments that Hotaru, and other volunteers went through were so bad to the point where they had lost the feeling of pain, and their memories. As time went by, test subjects were dying one by one, until it was just Hotaru left. She didn’t remember her name, and since she was the last one standing, they all called her “Nil”. After a decade of these nonstop assessments, Nil had finally obtained the desired super strength, but used it to kill those who had put her through torture, and escaped from the lab. She ran into Sandria, who noticed how fragile she looked. Sandria offered her aid, and welcomed Nil in as “family”.Trivia
